Treasures

I've had this outfit for two months, and have been waiting til the wintery holidays to put it on Kisara. Um. I had no idea the hood had little bear ears. This wins as the cutest Takara outfit ever. I don't understand why they can't come out with such cuteness for Blythe. And for 1800 yen too. The shoes are even better than usual.

Pardon the holiday clutter. All my toys come out of storage. Wee!

And then there's this! Wee lefton-like devil figgers. I picked these up for a pittance (as in: under $10, yo) on my last trip to Reno. They're missing their little pitch forks, so we'll have to rig something up for that. But they are SO TINY. The wee ones are about 1".

Wah! My Volks issue Haute Doll just flew through the mailbox. Woo! And my geektastic autographs arrived from Godzillafest.

I am replete.

Licca-chan Gothic Lolita Dress Set

| | Comments (1)

CLicky CLick!

I don't know anything about them yet. They appear to be limited (really limited) handmade designer dresses. Which explains why they're a bit on the expensive side (a bit!). I can't even tell which Jenny friends those are! I wish I could find lace that tiny.

Ah! Christmas Licca!

Mmm. We slept and ate leftovers all day. Now THAT is a day off.

Double Uh-oh!

Jenny's Club Marine & Tamaki. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! S**t. You can order through Jenny-land.com, but I don't know how much yet.

Club 67 Licca Repros

Um. Squeeeeeeeeeee! A whole sea of Licca's! Looks like you can get the whole set for 31,269 yen ($300) or the girls seperate for 2,940 y and the outfits for (about) 2,000 y. These would probably be available through Jenny-land.com or off YJP.

Beautiful Girl we cannot afford

31,000 y! But just look at her and DREAM. I think I will make myself a little black wounded bunny. That'll make me feel better.

Special Anniversary Excelina:

Sigh.

Finally word from Masamichi. Sigh. I think we're going to have to have a fire sale. Otherwise, six months, another year? More? Before another preorder is made available outside Japan.

Unoa Lusis with large boob plate and pink froofy wig & cat ears. I hear her calling me.

And here's the scans from Dolly Dolly 5 of the Oshare Fashion Girls by Takara. The page with the yellow background shows the two commercial dolls in dress patterns featured in this issue.

Delectible Shopping Season

| | Comments (6)

Just when I am punished and cannot shop. I might have to sell something to get these girls though, Oshare Style Fashion Girls:

osharestyle2.jpg

That's right, they're fashion dolls by Takara. Mmmmm!!! Helene's posted the full page from Dolly Dolly 5, clicky here! They're gonna be about $60, ouch! Especially compared with the $35 Rune girls. But they are 25cm, so a bit smaller than Jenny and a bit taller than Licca. I imagine licca sized body with the head? Oh boy. Available November from HLJ.com.

And then, better pix of the Sweet Girls. Mmmmmm.

And the October, November, December Calandar girls.
cal-dec.jpg

"La Reine Rose." Random tiny cute doll from Takara found on HLJ.com. There are a bunch of them, but only one pic. For October Release.

the prettiest elfgirl ever on YJapan. dang. seriously one of the only customs I've considered buying. please, someone, make her a happy home.

I tried to root my own green haired girl but it was my first rootjob and she sucked. Poor thing.

Volks is cool.

| | Comments (4)

Just when I discovered you can order from the Japanese site on Volks.co.jp they open up ALL the 1/6th links! Woo! This includes all supplies, zoukie brushes, rooting hair, chalks, eye putty, eeeeeeeeeverything. Granted, shipping starts at $25, but you save quite a bit ordering direct. Pssst! My secreit: I usually order an extra head or body to sell to cover my shipping costs.

So, go shoppin' girls.

Holy Cow, Jenny alert!

| | Comments (0)

Alright, little did I know that when I limited myself to gothy & lolita Jennys that my collection would double this year. I've already preordered these two for august from Jenny-land.com (and borrowed her pix):

(and oi! Pink kitty Marine has pink hair.)

BUT NOW... There are a TON of Calendar Girls, luckily they run in the $35 range.

sept.jpgnovember-mitsuki.jpgdecember-aiko.jpg September, November, December, OH MY! Pink Fluffy Lolita Flora, Elegant Gothic Burgundy hair Mitsuki & Comic Heroine Aiko (I'm assuming Rose of Versailles, mew!).

And another pic of September from HLJ.com:

LA CASA FORMICA!

Oh my freakin' god! I came home from lunch today and found this surprise waiting for me from Mr. Kallisti:

He's been working on it at work for a week. It is so freaky fab I can barely stand it. I love that man o' mine! It just needs some short cabriole legs for the bottom and then we get to go accoutrements shopping. I want wee circular gabled windows for the pitched roof, prolly gonna have to build those, but there are playscale windows etc available from Dollhouse shops. And I'm gonna do real wood floors and tile floors and, and .... Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! We've been planning this for a year and it is finally here. As it is my dollies are scattered all over the house, perched on various things. I don't actually have that many, I should do a count:

  • dollfies: 12
  • Jennys: 8
  • super dollfies: 2
  • blythe: 3
  • dollfie dream: 1
  • misc: 6 (Tom of Finland, Cuttiem, Pullip etc)

This doesn't not include action figures. Heh. And obviously the Super Dollfies won't be living here, they've got their own surface on the ole Victrola.

Also, I am stabbing myself for not picking up these Disney Princess furniture sets last week. I went to grab them Friday and they'd had a sale and are cleaned out everywhere! The colors were atrocious, but the design was PURE Rococco gorgeousness and I am dying and stabbing myself in the eye. If anyone has any HOT TIPS, they were only available through The Disney Store.

More later, but I had to gush about my new house.

Volks woo!

It has been confirmed, all the crap I ordered from the Japanese side after logging into the Volks website has been shipped. That includes lingerie, pittato wig velcro, lots o' eyelashes including the new gothic ones, go guy red rooted head, tan skin black hair rooted head (which Masamichi couldn't get) etc. I tested putting a SD dress in my basket and it let me get through checkout just up to the payment confirmation so I assume I could order dresses etc too. This is very exciting. No more feeling jealous of the Japanese (except for FCS). Oh, and the only thing they made me take out of my basket was Mr. Super Clear because it technically cannot be shipped into the US.

K, I have one big order coming from D & H, of which half of it I might resell as I am seriously cutting down on the dolly budget. No more hoarding. Only shop as needed, and redefine the word "need." Suddenly "need" isn't quite so voluminous now that I have Demelza. *sigh* I can't stop staring at her.

"Need" is the new pink haired Rosebud Blythe. Woot. Which is my *only* planned purchase for the forseeable future. Imagine that! But priorities must be redefined if I'm going to ever save money and do the right thing. Luckily I don't have much debt.

And I would like to congratulate le Marquis et le Boyfriend on the successful counter-counter offer being accepted on his new Palais a la Nouvelle Orleans. I can't wait to visit and have crumpets and whiskey on the balcony. Think Christmas. Think liver damage.

Oooh, and thanks to rroseselavyoui reminding me of the Dangerous Liaisons exhibit at the Met. *swoon* I believe this was the subject of a lengthy email thread between the Sepulchritudinous editors awhile back. Welp, they gots pictures up now...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Meat Fairy ahoy!

kallisti_avatar.gif

First , I'd like to congratulate JoAnn for the Bust interview in the article "Women who play with dolls" (or some such)! I knew Gina, Donna & Tiff were gonna be in there from the TIB forum, but I am soooo tickled to see JoAnn's name in lights along with her sexy goh guy. Volks is getting exposure. Doh! Go get it now! June issue is on the stands.

A bit of irony re: another article in this issue (and I'm not a regular reader of Bust) is called, and I paraphrase heavily, "Financial planning for stupid fucked up slackers."

Gah! *shuffles feet*

The other book we bought at B & N was "Financial Planning for dummies." Yes, I know. So dumb. But it's true. I'm one of those people who stood around at cocktail parties looking fantastic all through my twenties. Now I'm 35, married, still manage to have the cool dot.bomb job and I'm absolutely clueless. As my therapist (yes I'm seeing one) kindly put it "you are completely unprepared for adult life."

That hurt.

But suddenly I want to know I won't be a homeless junkie when I'm 68, and it really, really matters. So what does that mean? I HAVE TO STOP SPENDING MONEY.

That hurts too.

I can't stand being here. There is so much to do at home that I am climbing out of my skin.

My pretty girl awaits! Aaaaaaaaaaah!

Meat Fairy

meatfairy-005.jpg

What better day than Memorial Day to present my brother, Mr. Biggles, with his Meat Fairy Dollfie. He had so much fun with my Kallisti doll at one of the last bbq's that I immediately started planning to make one for his very own, and here she is! We're about to take her over to the BBQ (along with my famous pasta salad).

meatfairy-003.jpgmeatfairy-009.jpgmeatfairy-010.jpgmeatfairy-022.jpg

She's an Azone #2 (kisara-ish) head on an Obitsu body, if'n you didn't know. Shown here with some items from a Barbie BBQ set. Oh, and I stitched the wee oven mitts myself. Awwww.

Mmmm. Vinyl.

| | Comments (0)

(She's purring, can you hear her?)

Volks order arrived yesterday, chocked full of goodness. Lots of 1/6th boobie bodies and some vinyl for Calamity.

Actually, I took a TON of pictures. But hated them all. I like the stark contrast of these though. Sigh. I am not the master.

Sucking and Shopping

| | Comments (3)

(New Calamity gallery uploaded... go visit!)

I have very limited outside space. I'm getting tired of photographing the front porch (please excuse the grass mat). We're gonna have to dress up the back deck better for pretty picture taking.

Also, I paid out $750 cash to get my car fixed, that's $1100 this year so far! But she's a little gem and deserves the love. But I've also got a Volks order on its way (woo! busty D dollfies!), and one from Masamichi (yay goh guy head!), and two really fabu items coming from Celga (secrets). Not to mention the new camera!

And THEN... but I couldn't resist this, and I'm so grateful... I bought the Lady Rosalia dress from Dollfiend on TIB. Thank you girly, girl!

Pictures were from the Lady Rosalia auction and belong to her entirely. We're just reprinting them here because we're excited.

So, if you can find it in your heart to buy a couple dollfies and some ugly barbie stuff off of ebay from me, have pity! Boo-hoo.

Sneak Peek

| | Comments (6)

Because I have no patience:

DOh! It's Calamity. Clearly, most of the Japanese customizers do better jobs than this on a 1/6th face... how do they do it!?! They're just better at everything. Sigh. In any case, I'm very happy with the way this turned out, as compared with the other one. Yeesh.

On another note, we pulled out my Gin Lane Dolls House and Mr. Kallisti is helping me finish it. I was surprised there was so little left to do! Hope to have freshy fresh pix up in the next couple weeks. Woooo!

Poor Frank

At last, a Volks Preorder.

EDIT! I missed the 1/6th bodies. Sorry for the cornfusion, they are there.... go order now!

It's not pretty, but here is the current preorder from Volks.

http://www.doll-hobby.com/departments.asp?dept=1137

Most usual rules apply, all orders are non-cancelable, SD and MSD require a
deposit. All orders are taken in Yen, for conversion to Dollars on receipt
of the exchange rate. 15% is then added for shipping costs to us. I cannot
give you a Dollar price until the items are in stock.

Volks has not given us a ship date, so I cannot give one to you. As always,
we hope for a quick shipment. I cannot guarantee any orders will be shipped
complete, as there have been out of stock products on the last few orders.
Unfortunately, we have no control over this.

If an item you are looking for is not on the list, I CANNOT order it for
you. This is all that they are currently offering us. I have no
information other than what is shown on the site. If there is no picture, I
have no current picture. The only thing I can do is direct you to
www.volks.co.jp as they may have pictures.

Sorry, but this is all very last minute as usual, and we have had very
little time to prepare for this. It's the first preorder on our new
shopping cart site, so there may be some problems. Please call if you have
any questions, or e-mail. The site allows credit card orders only. If you
have a different method of payment, please call.

Thanks again, Frank.

I did order some SD shoes, a head and some wtg clothes and the boobie girls. At least I hope I did. I'll call tomorrow to make sure they got my order. Had to really hold back ordering pure skin Megu though. Sigh. Saving up for summer...

Alert! Alert!

The Volks English site has been updated with some new stuff available.

You can now order standard Dollfie Dream direct from Volks. I put one in my basket, they're in stock! 18,900 yen! They also have all the swimsuits and some lingerie, though not the full outfits yet.

And um, I just ordered a buncha New EB D size girls! Go! now! They have normal, tan & white! They also have minis and Goh Guys. But no heads yet. Poo.

Um also, but only on the Japanese section for now, there is Dollfie Dream eye decals. Which is a very friendly idea: http://www.volks.co.jp/jp/dollfiedream/items/index_items.aspx

My first order with the Volks site should be arriving today/tomorrow. One super long white DD wig and a couple bodies I got to sell to offset shipping (damn expensive EMS). Also, my DD arrived at work today! Should have pix in the next couple o' days. Oh boy.

*giggle*

I'm sorry, wouldja look at that backside!?!?

(please forgive me, here's the Japanese auction I stole these pix from. go buy their doll, maybe they'll forgive me)

Happy Endings...

| | Comments (0)

I got my tracking # this morning from HLJ.com, my Dollfie Dream is on her way. And the EMS charge was only 3600 y! EDIT: I just ordered the floor length DD wig in pearl white directly from Volks. Wooo!

And last night I received news that my Over The Stripes Blythe order was cancelled! It is too limited and the shop will not be carrying it afterall and advised that they will probably only be available outside of Japan for $300. Or whatever.

The Lord giveth & The Lord taketh away.

What the goddamn hell!?!?

ohfg.jpg

Um, I just checked my HLJ.com order status page on a whim. And it says they're freakin' shipping my Dollfie Dream!

I hope, I hope this is true. I really do. Because Mr. Kallisti said he was more disappointed than I was.

Please gods, don't yank my chain!

I went to check my Dollfie Dream order status, not necessarily to cancel her though.

And it says: discontinued.gif

Well, that made my decision for me, didn't it.

Ebay and...

| | Comments (2)

Cleaning house... unfortunately, I'm really, really cleaned out this time. Not much left to sell except my husband's action figures!

So please check out my ebay auctions, some volks heads, elf heads, WWF action figures, McFarlanes and My Scenes.

We're selling up because of this...

Meat Fest

| | Comments (1)

Wait? What? Meat Fest? Yes indeedy. Whodda thunkit that when I made the post about the Chicken Fryin' Dress that Kallistidoll would actually become a spokesperson. But when I whipped her outa my purse at my brother's bbq yesterday, his glee was clear to be seen, whether it was due to her ample cleavage or perhaps because she matched the table cloth, I don't know.

Pirate Licca

| | Comments (7)

I've had a pirate Licca in my brain for awhile. The same day this naked Princess Licca arrived at the post office, I picked up a copy of Dolly Dolly 3. Welp. Wouldn't ya know it. A lovely Momolita Pirate Licca is near the front of the book, with the easiest pirate hat pattern ever. I trimmed her bangs and painted her lips read. I whipped up the stockings (made from stockings from a real Pirate store in SF!) and cobbled together the rest of the outfit out of Blythe clothes. I wanted to make the whole thing, but this was perfect, why duplicate when you don't have to? Oh, and my scrumMr. Kallisti made the jolly roger on her hat out of sculpey. *squeak!*

In the Navy!

| | Comments (1)

I finally got the Calendar Marine in her navy outfit during the dolls.jp end of year clearance. Half price!

I took the outfit off of Marine and put it on... Marine! I've had the Takara Bako Orange Marine forever (also from dolls.jp!). She's been waiting for her little sailor pin-up outfit for a long time.

And check out those legs. Betty Grable would be proud.

And don't feel bad for poor brunette Marine, she's got a new aviator style.
