Through my eyes...

Sometimes it is difficult to capture something juuuuuust how it looks through your eyes. Fifi was modeling her new wig from CanCan, (many thanks to Unkie Paul and Priss for sharing your beauty secrets!) and this is my view of her from the couch.

Fifi still strikes me dumb with her confectionary beauty sometimes. Mwowr. She's also sporting her new #11 AR eyes I finally found! I love them, very dark, almost black, red-wine purple. I will have to try to photograph them so they shine.

I've been loath to post all week. The news of the tsunami struck me dumb. Perhaps I'm too easily affected, but the scope of the devastation breaks my heart.

I've sent a bunch of money to Doctor's Without Borders today. I have that horrid sinking feeling that the tragedy hasn't yet fully unfolded. Thanks to Blackjack for putting it into perspective.

Woohoo 2004! Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

who's spoiled.

Fifi is! Because the lucky girl got the best Christmas present in the world. Mr. Kallisti surprised her with her very own beauty parlor hair dryer! He made it. With STUFF. Yessiree. It is minty green and aspirin pink. With a chromey extendable arm.

What a freak out.

Merry to all!

I just got off the phone with the vet!

Her bloodwork was clear. She has a UTI and asthma, both of which we're treating her for and she's perking up a little bit. Like, actually getting up and saying hi and being cranky!

I'm feeling better about the surgery if her health is good. I found this great page on feline mammary cancer. I think since the cancer doesn't appear to have spread, surgery is a good option for her. Since it is right under the skin, it is not as invasive as it could be. I worry more about the anesthesia than the surgery really.

Poor kitty! I had a total meltdown over the weekend, I love her so. But she's a fighter, Mr. Kallisti says she reminds him of his ole cantankerous late grandpa. I would have to agree.

My wittle kitchen bitch...

I'm all flubbergusted with glee!

Secret Santa was good to me this year! Melissa! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! She sent the most awesome Blythe dress ever. I can't even begin to describe. I'll just show you 2389743 pictures instead. And the best excuse to debut la Casa Formica's kitchen. Still in need of base boards and crown molding, but crikey! I can't wait forever...

All I want for Christmas...

Suddenly I have FIVE BLYTHES!?!?!

Today is my only day to take pictures with daylight, so I'm trying to squeeze them all in. Here's a few of the girls!

In the back are Calliope wearing Mitten's pink coat and hat outfit, Thistle wearing a Christmas surprise present from Miss Christina, and Polly Styrene wearing her new bunny woolies by Pink Gun. In front are Gudrun in Mitten's slavic princess outfit, and Marzanna, mitten herself! Oh, and wee pinky doodle petite Blythe in the Dolly Bird special outfit on her vintage Petite Princess lounge.

Biscuit & Zman, December 2004

Both kitties went to the vet today. Biscuit because we've caught him winded and wheezing, probably due, says the vet, to the fact he may be allergic to the xmas tree pine needles he's been chewing on.

Zman, my cantankerous and sweet seventeen year old cat, probably has cancer. I knew this was coming, but have been putting it off because I know some very hard decisions are in the future. She's had a small growth on her breast all year, and it's finally gotten rather large. The vet says he can't imagine the biopsy will come back benign, which breaks my heart. She's been slowing down in so many ways, and she's started losing weight, I just don't know if you should operate on a kitty this old. She's nearly eighteen. Today she got xrays, and he didn't see any other tumerous masses, and she's got general bloodwork coming in on Monday, at which time he'll know what to recommend.

I've been with Zman my whole adult life, I got her a few months after I moved out of the house when I was eighteen. She's my angel and has been through so much with me.

My heart is breaking.
