But then there is also going to be THIS:

Who is actually the girl I've been waiting for, she could really be the Blastmilk poster girl. Boy am I in trouble. But she had ORANGE hair. Meh.

Oh, and "Candy Carnival" bloo girl comes with a piglet. A PIGLET!!!

Meet Edgar...

| | Comments (3)

Trinian finds her true love.

I picked up Edgar in Reno last weekend for a pittance. His poor, and persistant skin condition notwithstanding, he's fantastic. The outfit has many layers, all delicately done, there are two or three petticoats plust bloomers, gown and bonnet. His eyes are painted glass and they still go to sleep when you tip him! Though they make an attractive squeaky noise.

Beastly baby! Yay!

Baby, The Stars Shine Bright

I finally caved and bought my favorite two BTSSB outfits for Super Dollfie. I waited and kept bidding until I got the bargain I wanted. I can't tell you how beautifully produced these outfits are, they are truly stunning. Mew, mew, mew! Fifi is of course wearing the Dollheart London outfit. All the girls have had it on, it refuses to go back on the shelf. I don't have to tell you how much I really love it...

Click below for tons more pix. Oh, my girls, my girls...

Momo!

| | Comments (0)

Momo, my Peach Lady Momoko. Looks fantash in the Calendar Girl Rune Fashion outfit... I knew I was saving it for someone special. Eeeee!

I love her. She's had a slight hair relaxing and bang trim, all tamed beneath a strawberry patterned scarf.

Ta-dah!

Wish...

| | Comments (0)

I wish for a snow skin Yuni. Meh. Or some other scary baby type.

I'm obsessed, where are my beastly babies!?!?

Meh. Notdoll Labs has standard Cossette but she ain't snow skin. Yuni is on YJP but she ain't snow skin.

Maybe a mini snow Anais? If I painted her up like a porcelain doll would she go bump in the night!?!?

Check it.

New pic added to the me gallery: yes, that is a Sanrio Twin Stars hair barrette, baby. Circa, um... 1976. About the same time I was watching this.

Wow. Nearly the same haircut I have now. Whoda thunkit? One of the better poodle cuts I was subjected to as a child. I'm tellin' yah, the world is much more curls friendly than it was in the IRON IT FLAT seventies. Sheesh. No wonder I went all punk rock and shaved it off at fourteen. Yip.

but I love this seller and their mini Volks store. Eeeeeeeeeeee!

Cute.

Also cute?

From the American Girl collection? Yup. Dolls=scary, concept=fantastic. Scale should be good for 22" dolls and the like. The lamp. I have the EXACT deco lamp on my desk as we speak. Belonged to Mr. Kallisti's gramps. And yes, the dolly lamp works.

Thanks to... someone who posted these on their journal recently! I fergot where I saw the link. Bad me.

disappointed.

I hate admitting miscalculation. But I should have known better.

Volks Zoukies Sax Blue eyes look almost identical to HG Baby Blue.

Lovely, but... gah! *stabs self* I think the auction pix were much paler... That is why I bought them. I thought they were nearly a clear blue. I should have checked the faq first, and I would have seen they were bright, light blue. UGH.

MSDFCS-S5-GE25.jpg

Also, followup on the Volks store opening: Tiki brought up a good point that I am also very concerned about. Having a rabid internet fan base of thousands does not always translate to successful flag ship store in LA.

I desperately am hoping they hire some serious U.S. MBA style ninjas. Even if they keep it boutiquey. They need to make sure it is successful.

And then open a sister store in San Francisco. And hire me.

In the mean time, who else is planning to be there for the opening?

I'm also super pleased to see that Lucy made it home so quickly! Check out her new gallery. Eeeeeeeeeee!

I love painting their little Unoa faces.

The last to know

| | Comments (1)

Because I was in Tahoe for the weekend (we forgot our memory card for the camera, so please to clicky on the Marquis to see beeyootiful snow peektures)...

Aimee announced it all official like: Volks is opening a store in LA.

HOT DAMN. Some place I can actually get to. So. Excited. It is all over now. Everyone, send your condolences to Mr. Kallisti. He is gonna cry.

The trip: Ohmigosh, best time ever. I miss Toddums sew much I constanly wonder why we are three THOUSAND miles apart. Alas, he is in beautiful New Orleans, and I am stuck in overpriced, overpaid, 365 gorgeous days a year norcali. le sigh.

But the snow. THE SNOW! It snowed all weekend. Big. Fluffy. Snow. Besides the scintillating company (kiss, kiss!) we had lots of grand junk shopping. Day trip to Reno! More pictures later.

And Ondine had her first road trip. I so wanted her to meet le Marquis. She was such a pretty girl sitting on my nightstand every night.

I'm leaving for the weekend...

Tanith spam.

| | Comments (2)

Because I just nabbed this article off of the Tanith Lee mailing list. You must go read some LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I cannot begin to tell you how much her books mean to me. She's dreamy.

Favorites:
The Flat Earth series, specifically Death's Master.
Don't Bite the Sun & Drinking Sapphire Wine, recently re-released as Biting the Sun
The Paradys series, specifically The Book of the Damned
The Blood Opera series
Red as Blood, or Tales from the Sisters Grimmer. Duh.

On my list of things to do:

add an "All Tanith, All the time" page to Book Whores.
buy new books. I'm woefully behind! Metallic Love, Fatal Women, & Death Of The Day. Meh.

redasblood.jpg

But orange hair and freckles!?!?! Squeee!

050309_1.jpg050309_2.jpg

I can have TWO redheads, can't I!?!? Ugh.

Um, Aquarius avalanche.

| | Comments (0)

Probably because I was terribly remiss in creating profiles for my recent additions, I didn't realize that 3 out of my 4 bjd's are Aquarius'!

Fifi: January 20th
St. Trinian: January 23rd
Ondine Alice: February 13th

I'm just now figgering this out because... I've written up their profiles! Pretty basic, but cute. Meh.

Oh wow.

What was your favorite show when you eight? Seriously. My leetle friends and I would fight over who was cuter: Shaun Cassidy or Parker Stevenson. I was firmly in the Shaun Cassidy camp. Really.

La-la-la-LA!

March 14, 2005 | San Francisco -- A judge ruled Monday that California can no longer justify limiting marriage to a man and a woman, a legal milestone that if upheld on appeal would pave the way for the nation's most populous state to follow Massachusetts in allowing same-sex couples to wed...

"The state's protracted denial of equal protection cannot be justified simply because such constitutional violation has become traditional," Kramer wrote.

No drinks over 50¢... All drinks Man sized! A two part menu for the restaurant and their take-out offshoot "The Side Door."

Chickens serving cocktails, it just don't get much better than that.

Bertola's Restaurant was a local favorite when my brother and I were growing up along the San Pablo Ave. corridor. Gramma used to take us on the weekends. Weeeeeeeeee!

All about me...

| | Comments (0)

Leo much?

I've penned up a wee section about the site and myself. And updated my pictures and stuff.

And stuff.

I hate writing about me in that third person sort of way. That is why previously I had a friend do it. And that was last updated in, um, 1997. Ugh. If anyone has any suggestions, please speak up! Section will be expanding as time allows.

Posting pictures of myself on the internet however, I'm all over.

Welcome to Blastmilk Redux. There is still a lot to do, I've rushed the upgrade before I was ready for big dark secret reasons. There will be lotsa stylesheet fixes, and file jostling. So please forgive the abbreviated website, broken links, funky nav, and random funky text colors. I will be committing many more updates in the coming weeks.

Please to report brokey things.

Mwah!

EDIT: my web fu masters, if you have any input on how to improve my xhtml, please do!

Ondine Alice a la Sauvage

| | Comments (4)

There's nothin' like a new pair of boots from Dollheart.com to use an excuse for a new photoshoot. Dreamy! Ondine wears her new brown ribbon boots with the dress from Volks made for Anais II. The wig is another one of Volks' brilliant new wigs, in a wavey auburn (Volks calls it "copper" but they lie). Again, I am totally in love with the new Volks wigs, they are gorgeous. The texture is soft and lively, very sauvage. I'd definately buy this in other colors. Mmmmm.

More? Of course, and another thrown in of Ondine in her "Romance of London" outfit, which she was loathe to change out of.

la Salon de Poupées

| | Comments (4)

The loverly Fifi Mahony in the outfit by Imai I got from Aimee. Eeeeeee! And this wig. Volks W-02 in BLACK. I'd been trying to get it for AGES. Such gorgeous texture, heavy and swingy. Lurve it muchly.

But wait! What is this? Mr. Kallisti rides again! [queue Bonanza theme]

It's a large BJD photo stage! Collapsible (if a bit heavy), stores flat, and tres easy for scene changes!

It is just a large piece of plywood. A bit on the heavy side because we happened to have a large piece of thick plywood on hand. It has a lip around the backend to keep the walls from sliding off the back. The back L shaped wall is hinged at the corner, and then upholstered with cream colored felt. The bottom is covered with dark brown felt to keep it from scratching the 1925 Victrola Granada Phonograph the whole contraption is resting on. And the floor is a thin piece of black board covered with checkered shelf paper. This can be changed at will. The back is then covered with random fabric, in this case muslin on the back wall and mauve velvet on the side. The set dressings are hung on push pins with the plastic bit ripped off so the fabric can be changed and stuff rehung with ease. It all folds up and tucks behind a large desk, or can stay out as a permanent doll room. Which it is likely to in this case.

I married a genius. And a very understanding man.

Dear Internet,

| | Comments (2)

I'm looking for Japanese dolly display cases, in the 20-21" range. I have a couple dolls of my grandmother's, one gorgeous Ichimatsu, that are in desperate need of seeing the light of day. But I've seen what dust and cat hair can do to fine collectibles, so they've been in storage since I inherited them.

(sans doll, of course)

We found them in China Town this afternoon, but they're about $100-$125... is this the going rate? I wanted to check before committing as that is a lot of money. I'm beginning to think it is, but if anyone knows better, or knows where to get them cheaper online, please let me know! Doll cases from Michael's need not apply.

Mr. Kallisti is threatening to make me one. But the cost of glass might be prohibitive? I don't know...

Furryville *cough*

| | Comments (3)

I'm serious!

Ok. It has been a long time since we've gone to Target and bought a buncha crap we didn't need. But we definately needed to walk off the awesome 15 lb shawerma's we had here, and what better place to do that than at Target? Especially the giant two story Target they opened just blocks from our house. Not to mention Mr. Kallisti had spied my favorite sheet set line on clearance there earlier in the week.

Look what we found!?!? FURRYVILLE! The best set was definately the Pigbys. They're like mini Steif animals, velvet with their sewed on noses and jointed arms. The littlest piggie is less than 1.5 inches and its limbs are jointed as well! We're pretty enthusiastic when it comes to cookware. These were a no brainer. This new series by Mattel is vaguely reminiscent of the Sylvanian Familes. I still covet the Mole and Hedgehog families available in the UK. I have a birthday coming up in six months.

Li'l piggy cookies. Yum.

Um, *cough*, the new Barbie packaging is all very exciting and refreshing. Still not much I'd actually buy, but what fun to shop.

Gack! Literally...

Um. The cat puked ALL OVER the nice boxed cover of my Super Dollfie Bible. There is much crying. The book is saved, but the box is in the trash.

I like to help.
