I saw this postcard on their site around winter and have been waiting for it to be released ever since. Absolutely completely SO made for me and my girls. I haven't bought one of their dresses yet. Gorgeous but never *quite* my thing. These. Meow.
I was going to buy the boy set for some boy I hope I will have someday but they are ALL sold out already (!?!?!?) and I think I got the last girl one. Click the postcard pic above to see the detail shots, they come with their leetle shoes as well. I'm so excited!
If anyone bought the boy outfit and is having second thoughts, LET ME KNOW!
pine....
EDIT: They only sold 6 of the boy and 4 of the girl on ebay last night and there is supposed to be an edition of 20 for each. I will calm down now.

Now that I'm feeling better, we've had a whirlwind weekend. Started Friday evening with a trip to El Cerrito's little Japantown at the Jay Vee strip mall. Katana-ya is the most awesome ramen/sushi place in the area. If you go too late on ANY night it is packed beyond belief. We ordered Snow Crab Shabu Shabu to split and a mess o' sushi. We brought the camera in but realized halfway through the meal that we'd forgotten to snap. Oh well, so you get the mess we made. It was, to say the least, amazing. I love food you have to crack and pull apart and pick at to eat. So fun! I call it little Japantown because in the same wee strip mall (that has been here since I was a baby) there is a Japanese food market, where we got cleaning sponges like Volks sells, and Re-ment, and little chocolate burger crackers. And there is also a Japanese dollar store next door where we bought more crap. El Cerrito rocks.
Went to the farmer's market with my brother early Saturday, got lots of fancy meats and veggies and ate like true aging hippies last night with our dandelion greens and crepinettes. Mew!

The weather has been GORGEOUS so we headed out for Martinez since we had some pennies burning holes in our pockets. Mr. Kallisti picked up a beauty. A circa 1940's Diana-F plastic camera bought for a mere pittance. Very cool, mang.
I found a boudoir doll (1920's) that I am thinking on. GORGEOUS as well. Had to research before I dropped the dosh. I can't find anything like her online or in my books. She is smaller, probably under 20"? German made with very petite composition features, hands and legs all in peach silk that looks original. And mohair marcelle waves. I um, have to have her. So I will be emptying my coin jars and maybe selling some other stuff to assuage the guilt. She's not that expensive, honest... but I am spoiled and need to justify my purchases to myself.
On the way back to the car we stopped into a shop we'd been in last winter where we had coveted a petite uranium glass apothecary jar. The woman had just got it in but hadn't priced it yet. It had a chip in the lip so she knew it would be under value but even the ballpark was more than our comfort zone. Well. It was still there! The lady wasn't there, but the owner was. And the price was a under what her previous estimate had been and he knocked off an additional 10%. Pristine, this jar is worth a lot of money. I don't spend that kind of money on collectibles usually, so a lot of the stuff I have has tiny flaws. Which is fine by me. I love the loot for itself not its value really. And this piece is gorgeous.
Mid to late 19th century, hand painted label uranium glass Valerian apothecary jar. It of course glows under black light.
And last but not least, I got Aimee's outfit by Imai. I am so happy to own this! I love the outrageous take on traditional Japanese couture. I'll do a better photo shoot with all the girls in Japanese garb, but Demelza looked so fab, and she was already wearing the neosium zouk eyes too.
Sorry for the wrinkly backdrop. I'm lazy and I suck. And I'm late to go spend the rest of my glorious weekend moving my mother into a new apartment. Eeep!
Amazing. That is a Gene Marshall dress. the first and last snaps fasten but not the waiste. Meh. About 1/2" (?) to small I think. Super for photos too. Also, the Fashion Victims PVC cheerleader outfit fits if you cut out the sewn-in panties and don't mind it being REAL SHORT. Gonna have to make her some black panties to wear with.
But I think I love her best in the frothy vintagey garb. Mmmmm.
Oh yes, and this wig took a HUGE trim in the bangs and lots of strategically placed velcro. It was supposed to be UNOA sized but I have a feeling it was really MSD. But I LOVE IT. Must get more wigs in that "milk" color.
♥ Mr. Kallisti buying me a PS2 just so I could play Katamari Damacy. So, now I am playing it all day while sick.
♥ A big tall Powerpuff Girls coffee mug filled with tea (2 bags peppermint, 1 bag valerian root), 2 slices lemon, tablespoon full of apple cinnamon syrup sent from Gramma in Kansas = happy throat!
♥ Mr. Kallisti buying me crates of sick supplies, including a gallon of sugar free pistachio ice cream that ROCKS.
♥ St. Trinian.
♥ Imai outfit from Aimee. Yay, I helped her go to Japan. Yay!
♥ my very naughty kitten. naughty!
...um, I know there's more.
So I'm sick. I came home from work a bit early yesterday and Mr. Kallisti said he was startin' to feel a bit woogly too, so we both took some night time alkaseltzer and hit the sheets around 5pm.
I just woke up and my voice is totally gone! Croak! Ribbit!
And Biscuit must have been totally frustrated because he has wrecked the house. Both bathmats have been dragged under the bed along with god knows what. Pens and socks are everywhere. Strange items are in the sink and one of Trinian's faceplates was on the floor (eeek!). And that is just what I've noticed.
He's been licking our faces all morning and I thought he was being sweet. In the meantime he's wrecked the house!
Kittens!
I've called off work, fed the cats, I'm going back to bed. Owie.
St. Trinian likes to kick her legs in the air and smoke too many cigarettes.
I think it looks like she's yawning! This face is SO cute. There are little inserts for her mouth, a palette, tonsils and front teeth, and a little tongue for the bottom. Can't really get the light to reflect off her little pink tonsils but they are SO CUTE. Gah.
Happy MSD nursie outfit from YJP. A little big, but the synching helped. Now, another wig I bought that was supposed to be a 6 and had a Unoa picture on it is way oversized. And I was trying to get away with just a little velcro on her head but the wig don't stick to it, and I think I just like my moleskin better. It don't tangle wigs up. Nyah.
Went through some of my Gramma's lace the other day and found her doll clothes. I had a sneaking suspicion that these would fit Unoa, and I was right. They were all sewn by her little hands sometime in the 1910's. You can see where my fixation for bloomers came from, these little pink and white striped ones matched a little smock that I was never able to locate. I remember copying these for my own dolls numerous times when I was wee.
I also adore the stand she came with. she hangs from a hole in the back of her head, so she can hold really cute poses.
And this is from my own childhood. I bought it at a flea market when I was about eight for one of my porcelain doll kits. It is probably from the 50's or so and has yellowed quite a bit with age. I love it though! And it fits Trinian like a glove!
Now she just needs some good eyes. The grey acrylic look pretty enough to look at her, but photograph terribly.
There's more, but I have to save some for tomorrow!
Warning! This doll has huge knockers! Click at your own peril!
She really is well endowed for such a petite little thing. She's a bit floppy through the waist joint, but other than that, she's a dream! We're going to go play dress up now. Oh boy.
She's named after one of my favorite series of books by Ronald Searle "The Belles of St. Trinians."
I've got a nasty cold. I'd so far avoided getting sick this season, aside from sniffles on New Years. But this one hurts. Throat: ow. Head: ow. OW. And I have zero sick time accrued at the new job. Lets hope it doesn't progress, I could still work as it is.
On another note, SHE'S almost done. Just waiting to be strung. Eeeeeeeeeeeee! You have no idea. Need to go get some five minute epoxy to glue her hip joints and we're done! But Mr. Kallisti is in the middle of a very long email. Squirm.
Tease, the Blastmilk Lab:
Unoa definately get the vote for dolls with the cutest knees. Also, the most fun to paint. Their little features, though petite, are a dream. I should have done mauvy-rose lips but I cannot resist the red. I'm addicted. So. Luscious.
*pokes Mr. Kallisti* C'mon!
Profile: We caught Saint Trinian barefoot and crawling in through the cat door to try and steal cigarettes. We'd been wondering where they had all been going!
The wee girl is an absolute treasure, and she knows it. She smokes too much and dresses wonderfully in vintage doll clothes (with a few pins and tucks), and idolizes her older siblings. She's the baby, but don't let her sweet face cajole you into giving in. She's more trouble than she lets on!
About: U-Noa Quluts by Gentaro Araki seem to be very sought after dolls. Produced in very limited numbers in twice yearly (so far) pre-orders, as soon as the pre-order period is over they double in price. I was lucky enough to be able to place my order in September of 2005, though I had to make some pretty stiff sacrifies to do so. I had to wait nearly five months for her to be manufactured, and sent to me as a kit from Japan through a third party shopping agent. O, but it was worth the wait. Although a bit more crudely produced than the other dolls, as they are produced solely by the artist, Lusis is definately the most beautifully sculpted of all my dolls. She is exquisite! And at 16" tall, so delicate!
lusis is supposed to be here today, but I'm so nervous she won't arrive til monday. I want to play. FIVE MONTHS of waiting and I won't believe she's here til I'm running barefoot through her box of loose parts.
baby. she has a name but it is secret.
I've sold FeeVerte.net for a tidy sum to a dear friend at Oxygenee.com. I can't believe I've really done it!
I'm so relieved. I've been running the site for nearly eight years, and the past couple years have been grueling since my heart just wasn't in it anymore. Due to drama, politics, betrayal and heartbreak, I've just had it all squashed out of me. And I've found someone I believe will maintain the core integrity of the site, who is a lovely friend, very supportive and honorable.
I've agreed to stay on for six months to maintain and integrate his site with mine. Eventually he may add a bit of commercial interest, but I know it won't be evil. It will be an honest endeavor. Mr. Kallisti and I will also be staying on as moderator admins.
I am sad too. Without the site, the friends I've made, my life wouldn't be the same. This is where/how I met Mr. Kallisti! I've been mentioned in books and articles, and have friendships forged all over the world now. But I've lost some friendships too. And some have lost me...
My sadness since I began this process a month ago has been profound. But you know when you reach the end. You just know. I feel so grateful that someone was there to take over from me.
I've just posted to the inner forum, we eagerly await the reaction. It will go public this afternoon.
I think I'm going to cry.
p.s. look for blastmilk.com part II in the coming months, in which I consolidate much of my online material into kallisti's wee funhouse of severed heads and scary dollies. I'm so happy. *sniff* Really I am.
You can blame Mr. Kallisti for the picture, he sent it to me earlier today. So! Mz. Bat has been celebrating Edgar Allen Poe's birthday every year since she was about three. And since I've known her for 2384734 years, I've been celebrating it on and off with her ever since. Tonight is a little slapdash, our attentions were both focused elsewhere. But far be it from us to let Edgar's natal day go unnoticed. So we're celebrating at Original Joe's Restaurant in The City and engaging in a bloody meat fest with a few friends. There will probably be pictures later.
You can check out Suffering is Hip's POEFEST pages for offerings new and old.
I swear, I only own like three pairs of shoes for myself. But I cannot resist the dolly shoes! This time it is Dollheart.com. Sigh.
I ordered one of their wigs too. Had to stop myself from ordering three. Eeep!
As if they couldn't make up for the Oshare dolls being so bleh. I ordered this box sight unseen, and the same day they posted the pix on HLJ.com they shipped my carton! OH BOY!

Miniature Re-ment style figures from Ayumi's Pose Doll book. Swoon!
I should post about these more often. I also have a whole crate of mini Mucha figurines and mini antique dolls, aside from all the Re-ment!
Dolly Dolly 6 is still MIA. 29 days. I've had SAL take this long before, but not very often!
I have to say... I cancelled my orders back in December. I saw the preview pix on Hobby Search and a little blurb pic from a magazine and they just weren't as freaky cute as the original promo shots. Especially for the price.
I'll stick with my vintage girls for now.
Bigfoot!
This story is late in coming and as elusive as the Great Skunk Ape itself. But honestly, I've been rather ill and alternately busy all week.
It was 4am last Saturday , and both Mr. Kallisti and I could not sleep. We'd fallen asleep rather early underneath the "2 weeks past" Christmas Tree. and were suddenly perky in the wee dark hours of the morning. I immediately think "road trip!" and then shortly thereafter "breakfast!"... what else do you do when you have the whole weekend spread out before you? You jump in the big red beast and chug off to Bigfoot Country.
In case anyone forgets Fifi is the star around here... she's back to remind you.
While doing up Nicneven last weekend, I suddenly had the BRIIIILLIANT idea of re-doing Fifi. I'd had issues with her face-up since the beginning, but the fabu volks lashes totally made me forget whatever problems I had had with her. Almost.
I wanted to paint lower lashes proper like, goshdernit. The trick is a proper uber fine liner brush. Yup. Still, I sealed, painted, and wiped her FOUR TIMES last weekend. Mr. Kallisti, BA in art and all, gave me a hand, bless 'im. Finally I just went to town on her and kept it. A bit heavier than I intended, but I wasn't going to bed leaving Fifi with a blank face, heaven forefend! I left it for two days, thinking I'd wipe it right off. Then I thought I'd just live with it for awhile. I sealed it and dressed her, stood her on her perch. And hated it. Totally loathed it. For about four hours.
And suddenly, it began growing on me. I think part of it is the shock of seeing her differently. After a week, she's Fifi again, but at first... yipes! I wanted to scrape it off with a knife.
She needs another coat of red and gloss on her lips. I didn't think I was keeping the face so I didn't really finish them. That will be next. My favorite part is actually the eyebrows. I'm improving. They are pale and wispy and EVEN. Mmmmm.
For the nonce, she's keeping her starlet look. Until I get cocky again.
Fantastic Sailor Girl outfit by Cheerydoll. Beautifully made, all seams finished in a lovely fashion. Also tailored for the slender SD13 figure. What a treat!
*fists in the air*
I just won Jun's body off of YJP for Ondine. I've been bidding for a month, hoping I'd eventually get one for my price.
Very. Exciting.
Going to see Merchant of Venice tonight... don't know if I can take all the DOOM, but it looks delish. It also happens to be playing blocks from my house, across the street from my favorite restaurant. Time to celebrate the bonus I just got. And the fact I've been sick and in the house most of the week or working. Need. Play.
Mylaar, take note. SIXTEENTH CENTURY VENICE, YO!
Poor Ralph Fiennes. Perpetually stuck in the gloom of the 16th century... sigh.
We are receiving every Unoa tomorrow. We are sending out the packages to our clients by Jan 17th.
Ohboyohboyohboyohboy!!!
I did a face touch-up for Melissa's Nicneven this weekend. The original face-up was so beautiful I thought enhancing and smoldering up her inherent qualities would do better than completely wiping her clean.
And her previous body blush had faultered when her nipples rubbed off! Eep! So she's got super hard candy coated nipples now. I'll be flabbergasted if they pop off this time!
http://www.denofangels.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8104
Oops. I've totally been remiss in paying the fuck attention. Apparently there is a meetup in Japantown this Saturday. Anyone I know (or "know") going?
Peep!
Ack! I'm totally allergic to the Volks cleaning sponge. Anybody else cough like mad when using it? I thought it was the Volks cleaning spray, but then I started buffing without it and *hack* I'm dying!
Today is Dolly Day. Redoing Miss Nicneven's face, and giving her body a good buff (and repainting her nipples, they're so perky they rubbed right off! have to get that girl some protective pasties).
We're also going to suede Demelza (finally!). As cute as the pure skin sd10 body is, she's floppy and doesn't sit up. Poop!
Also... starting on the F05 customization project. Mr. Kallisti is taking a mold of her first. He also customized a dremel tool into a sanding ball to gouge out the back of her eye sockets. He so smart.
Made a nifty discovery. I noticed this with Miette too, that the optional head beauty white is a little bit whiter than my FCS beauty white Fifi . As it turns out, the brand new F05 head matches the white Lishe body almost exactly. I didn't really think the F05 head would ever be her own doll, but if I really like her I know I can get a Cerebus Project body and it will match fairly well. Mew.
Oh, and we totally went in search of Bigfoot yesterday. I bet you thought I was kidding. More on that later... I just don't want to waste daylight documenting the saga :P
Also, I'm beginning to come around to the idea of a FCS F16 pure skin snow Sasha. I've seen a couple lately who are totally chic. But Volks might surprise me by re-releasing her this year. *dreams*
Woke up at four in the morning and said "Want to go find bigfoot?" and Mr. Kallisti said "Sure! Can we hit a Denny's on the way?"
So we're off. Be back tomorrow. Woo!

Stolen from Tamera! And posted only cuz it is so sorry.
How far?
1. Go To Mapquest.com
2. Click on Directions
3. Enter your Current Address and the Address of your Childhood Home (or at least the town if you don't remember the exact address)
4. Put the time and distance in a post like this.
5. Don't forget to repost these directions. (Not the door to door ones)
Total Est. Time: 6 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 2.26 miles
6 minutes!
I swear, I've lived far away most of my adult life (pphhffbt! In San Francisco). It's my brother's fault I moved back. He got me cheap rent! Wah!
And now I'm working 1 block from my High School. Yip!

Me. High School. Badass new wave photo coloring courtesy of Sharon Gore who sent me this picture DECADES later! Cry.

Can I have these two tattooed on my ass? So in love.
Wow, you'd think I was bored at work, but I'm not! I'm crazy bizzy!
I just need to come up for air and post every once in awhile so I don't drown in work. Also, Quark is evil.
I'm surprised there was a debate at all on the Ohio voting irregularities. And even more suprised that my Senator (yes, she is my personal senator), Barbara Boxer, was the lone dissenting vote when the chamber voted 74-1 to uphold Ohio's votes. Go Barb! WOO!
"Our people are dying all over the world ... to bring democracy to the far corners of the world. Let's fix it here," Boxer said.
I've got a pair of Volks white lashes winging their way to me already. Thanks Sandi! Woo!
Now, there was a Japanese customizer who had a page on opening up the F05's eyes. Does anyone have it bookmarked? I can't find mine! And it was very handy. I'll crosspost this one to DOA.
Thanks! Kiss-kiss!
Super Dollfie size preferably. The only ones I can find doll wise are from Customhouse, I could pad an order with wigs to get them (more wigs! ha!) but that seems expensive.
Any suggestions? And no light blonde either! I need white! I'm hitting the drag queen supply this weekend. Lor' he'p me, I can never resist the pettipants and petticoats in those damn places.
*flounce*
P.S. Also, I've been meaning to mention this. One of the last packages of lashes I got from Volks, and they are Volks brand, are human sized! WTF!?!?! Isn't that weird? Also, I just remembered the Soul Within group order. I'll try that too!
Thanks to Jellykiss love for posting: Six Apart to by LiveJournal.
Six Apart of course is responsible for my MT blog. Woo. I hope eventually the twain shall meet. Yarm.
I have thirty doll wigs. THIRTY! And seven of them are pink.
I feel like such a wig-ho.
How do you store your wigs? I keep as much original packaging as possible and store them flat in a large drawer. The lose wigs with nothing but hairnets all go in smaller boxes where they won't get squashed by the big Volks wig boxes.
More than you know! *rubbing hands together*

and the countess, can I? Sigh...
